Yes to Tomatoes DIY Powder-to-Clay Mask Review

I am a HUGE face mask lover, especially clay ones. I found this Yes to Tomatoes Powder Clay mask at Target for $2.50 and decided to give it a try. The Yes to Tomato line is specifically for combination and acne-prone skin, which are my 2 biggest concerns. This is what it claims on the Yes to website,

… Charcoal and tomatoes to detoxify and help clear skin. Formulated for breakout prone skin, Yes To Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal DIY Powder-To-Clay-Mask is the ultimate in customizable skin care.

The pack included the charcoal powder, as well as a bowl, and a tiny spatula.
The cool thing about these masks is you can mix them in with all sorts of other things like yogurt, avocado, lemon, and more. I went with green tea and filled the bowl up to the line that was already drawn into the bowl. The whole process was easy and the powder mixed into a thick creamy paste.Mixed Mask.jpg I applied it with the spatula provided, but after a while I decided to use my hands as a quicker method. The instructions say 10 minutes, but recommend 20 for a deeper detoxification, so that’s what I did. Face Mask.jpg

I obviously don’t know how to smile with it on, haha. Within the first 10 minutes of the mask, my skin began to tingle and itch, but I decided to just wait it out. After my 20 minutes were up I rinsed my face with lukewarm water.

I give this mask a ★★★★☆.

What I liked about the mask:

  • It left my skin glowing
  • My skin felt super soft
  • Easy to use
  • Affordable

What I didn’t like:

  • I saw no difference in the reduction of my problem spots
  • A bit irritating at first
  • Spatula provided was way to small and made it hard to cover entire face quickly

It’s a fun mask to try and I will probably purchase it again to see if I get better results. Have you guys tried anything in the Yes To line? If so, what are some of your favorite products from the brand? Until next time! XX
